Embracing the Season with Starbucks’ Fall Blend

Starbucks’ Fall Blend

Starbucks has a few seasonal blends out right now, so I decided to try out the Fall Blend. This medium roast coffee promises “hearty” spice notes, which sounded promising to me. Why not get into the fall mentality more, even if Florida is still a balmy 90 degrees outside? I typically drink strong coffee — espresso, really — so I was intrigued by the idea of having something a little lighter to sip on. Starbucks’ Fall Blend seemed like the perfect option.

Initial Thoughts on the Fall Blend

When I set the coffee up to brew, I did the same measurements as I would my regular coffee (approximately 8 tablespoons for 10 cups of water in my Mr. Coffee maker). The brew smelled nice — it was a little on the earthy, spicy side — so I was hopeful for the spice notes.

I don’t typically drink hot coffee, as I mentioned in my last coffee review, but I gave this one a shot freshly brewed because I was impatient to try it myself. I didn’t add milk or creamer (my current creamer is cookie flavored, no regrets) or sugar. The spice notes were more noticeable when the coffee was hot, in my opinion, than they were after I iced it. I wish the “hearty” spice flavor had stuck around more.

I Would Buy Starbucks’ Fall Blend Again

Despite feeling underwhelmed by the spice flavors, I am pretty happy with the coffee overall. I would definitely buy it again. It lived up to my hope that it’d be a nice, lighter alternative to my normal dark roast. I’ve been drinking it iced since I tried it originally, and it is a nice and smooth afternoon coffee.
