My Current Loves: 12th Edition

Welcome back to the Cats & Coffee My Current Loves series. Let’s dive right in:

Prickly Thistle’s Mary Queen of Scots Tartan

I’m a huge fan of Prickly Thistle, and Mary Stuart is my favorite historical figure, so the fact that Prickly Thistle designed a tartan based on Mary Stuart was almost too much for me to handle. Currently, the tartan is available in a scarf and a maxi skirt. I ordered the scarf, having been reminded by multiple people that I live in Florida and paying approximately $500 USD for a long tartan skirt was probably not the best use of that money.

The photos are from the Prickly Thistle website, and more information is available here.

The scarf arrived super fast and I’m so excited to wear it out and get pictures with it. It’s just as gorgeous in person as it looked on the website. And, yes, I’m still tempted by the skirt….

Bobbi Brown’s Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette

I wrote a whole piece about the Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette from Bobbi Brown, but am including it on my Current Loves since I’ve found its the only palette I’ve been using lately! Typically, I rotate through with my Naked Palettes from Urban Decay but for the last month or so, I’ve really just been using this 5-color set.

Unfortunately, it’s currently out of stock at Bloomingdale’s, where I bought mine, but it’s available on Amazon in limited quantities for a great price.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert

Big Magic was widely recommended to me. I think I first heard about it from my law school clinic director, and then it was brought back to my mind by Sara Tasker’s Hashtag Authentic podcast. I’ve been savoring the book, reading bits and pieces at a time because it really makes me stop and think.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert

Whether you’re looking for inspiration in your creative life or your career, I can’t recommend Big Magic enough.

Kombucha, Generally

I used to drink kombucha regularly, but fell out of the habit lately. Between getting to try out a new bubbly rose flavor from Health Ade and a bunch of great deals for GTs Kombucha on Ibotta, I’ve been getting back into drinking it regularly. Like I said in my post about green tea, I’m trying to drink less soda and coffee in the afternoons. Kombucha really hits the spot, too, when I’m feeling a little peckish but either don’t really know what I want or it’s pretty close to dinner time.
