February was a varied month for me when it comes to what I read. Starting out strong with the new Crescent City book and closing it out with a less-than-stellar ACOTAR audiobook production, the books in between spanned genres and interests. I didn’t finish one book, but it was so boring it’s not worth mentioning here. Overall, I would recommend all of the books listed below for your TBR!
Everything I read in January, with moving reads from Rebecca Ross’ Ruthless Vows to intriguing alternate realities like in American Royals by Katherine McGee.
The best books of the month, featuring the start of Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments, part two of the These Violent Delights Duet by Chloe Gong, & more:
I’m going to be honest here: I did not realize how many books I read in November until I sat down to write blurbs about each for this blog post. Between Spotify adding a huge library of audiobooks and getting my local library card for Libby, I’ve been devouring audiobooks, along with my ever-growing TBR pile. Top of the list for me is, unsurprisingly, Iron Flame, which was released earlier in the month.
After a slow start, October turned out to be a busy and enjoyable reading month for me. I read or listened to eleven books, and was completely engrossed by my third Sarah J. Maas series, Crescent City, in the process. The first few books I read this month weren’t my favorites (pretty much the first half of the list below), but the second half was great! Basically, I learned that I shouldn’t necessarily pick a random title from the library app and expect to love it. Regardless, here are the books I read this October; I hope you find a few that pique your interest!
The Best Books of the Month: Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher, Throne of Glass by Sarah J . Maas, Medusa’s Sisters by Lauren J.A. Bear, & more:
August was a prolific month for me in terms of reading. In all, I finished twelve books, ranging from regency romance to dystopian fantasy. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is my top favorite for the month — maybe for the year — with the Throne of Glass series books collectively coming in second. The Gael Song series from Shauna Lawless were also spectacular, featuring a mix of magic and history that really did it for me. In all, I have lots of great books to add to your TBR!
While I had fallen behind in terms of pace for my annual reading goal (100 books this year), I think I’ve gained good ground throughout July. All of the books I read this month can be considered historical fiction — some more than others. From 1960s America with Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus to ancient Egypt with Neferura by Malayna Evans, the books I read this month follow strong female protagonists in a variety of time periods. Read on for my July in books!
This month, my reading was heavy on the historical fiction — just the way I like it! From mythological retellings of Medusa’s sad tale to sapphic Victorian vampires, the books I read in June really ran the gamut, timeline wise. Read on for everything I read in June — I hope it helps fill up your TBR list!
