Tried and True Hair Care Products

As someone with long hair, I go through shampoo and conditioner rather quickly. Similarly, as someone with color treated hair, I am eager to stick with color safe products. Because of both of these things, it is easy for me to rack up quite the bill for hair care products. However, I’ve found a few great deals on Amazon for my favorite hair products.

Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner Set

This brand and line is a relatively new find for me. I got a sample set of it from Sephora a while back and was quickly hooked on it. One of my favorite things about this shampoo is that it produces relatively little buildup and residue, which can weigh hair down. It doesn’t strip the color or moisture from my hair, either, which is great. The conditioner, similarly, is lightweight and easy to fully wash out while still retaining the moisturizing benefits.

This set is a little on the pricier side — $31.95 for the 8.5 oz bottle set — but I’ve found that I use very little of it at a time, so the bottles last longer than you might anticipate.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo

The Awapuhi line from Paul Mitchell smells so good! I’ve had a few of their shampoos and conditioners, and have liked each. This simple option is super affordable — $10.50 for a 10.14 oz bottle — and gentle on your hair. Safe on color-treated hair, this shampoo is meant to work on any hair type to gently cleanse the hair without stripping the moisture.

I love that you can get this shampoo in a mini bottle for $5; it’s my favorite for travel.

HASK Rose Oil + Peach Shampoo and Conditioner Set

HASK Rose Oil + Peach Shampoo and Conditioner Set

If you’re looking for a more affordable shampoo and conditioner set, I highly recommend HASK’s sets. This Rose Oil + Peach set is designed for color treated hair and is only $14.95!

I also love the Charcoal with Citrus Oil Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner (also $14.95 a set here). Since it’s a clarifying set, I stick with using it roughly once a week or once every other week. Plus, that way, the bottles last forever!

HASK has a number of different sets for almost any hair need, though, so be sure to check them all out here.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector

This is one of my favorite products to use before braiding my hair. The Living Proof Night Cap is lightweight but effective; it helps keep my hair sleek and prevents frizz, all while giving my hair a little bit of hold while it dries in a braid.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector

This product seems a little expensive at first glance — $29 a bottle — but trust me, a little goes a long way. I’m only on my second bottle, now, and I’ve been using it for about a year and a half! If you shower at night and braid your hair for bed, it’s a must have.

Luxe Beauty Essentials Microfiber Hair Towel

Microfiber towels make a huge difference in drying time for me. As someone who doesn’t like to use hair dryers for regular day-to-day styling, microfiber towels really soaks up water without causing frizziness. I like the larger towels like this one because I can easily wrap all my hair in it and continue with getting ready while it dries.

Luxe Beauty Essentials Microfiber Hair Towel

If you have color treated hair, I would recommend not going with a white towel. It doesn’t affect the efficacy of the towel, but my hair dye has stained the towel and it’s just not the greatest look. I have my eye on this purple option here, which I think would probably be better.

Check out the large microfiber hair towel I’m coveting here. It’s a great price, as well as size, between $9.97 and $10.97 depending on the color you choose.
