The Best Heated Cat Bed

Heated Beds for Cats

Whether you live in a cold climate or sunny Florida, cats love heated beds. In short, cats love to be cozy, so a heated cat bed offers gentle warmth that they are sure to love! My cats have had their K&H Thermo-Kitty Cuddle Up beds for over five years now. These heated cat beds are consistently some of their favorite places to hang out. So, if your looking to treat your furbaby, this bed is the way to go!

Which Heated Cat Bed is Best?

The K&H Thermo-Kitty Cuddle Up style is a great heated cat bed. Based on what I’ve seen, and my experience with the two we own, this is the best heated cat bed with coverer indoor cats. It doesn’t use much electricity, is easy to clean, and has a durable design. We got our first of these beds over six years ago, while the second is about five years old now, and they’re still going strong!

The K&H Thermo-Kitty Cuddle Up Heated Pet Bed

This heated bed is designed to start off with a gentle warmth that builds up based on your cat’s body temperature when they lay down. With this method of heating, the bed stays at the optimal temperature for your cat as long as they’re lounging.

Besides the benefits of the heating, this bed has an orthopedic foam bolster that is the perfect feline chin rest height. The micro-fleece cover is machine washable and easy to clean, as well.

Why My Cats Love this Heated Bed

This K&H heated cat bed is the perfect size for my cats. Measuring approximately 16 inches by 16 inches, with a 3 inch lip on the shorter style, the bed gives the cats space to curl up or stretch out a bit. We have the shorter style of the bed, and it is a good chin rest height. This means optimal cat napping!

The combination of a super soft cover and the gradual heat, the bed is also great for cats who love to make biscuits. Emory likes to knead on hers before settling in for a nap!

Can You Leave the Heated Bed Plugged In?

Per the manufacturing brand, the K&H Thermo-Kitty Cuddle Up bed is designed for 24/7 operation. This means it was designed to be left plugged in continuously. There is no on or off button, so if it is plugged in, the heated cat bed is on.

If you are going to be away from home for a while, it is recommended that you unplug it like any other electrical appliance. You should not use an extension cord with this heated bed. You can see more safety details under “Product Q&A” on the K&H product page here.

How to Wash the K&H Thermo-Kitty Cuddle Up Bed

To wash the micro-fleece cover of this heated cat bed, unplug the bed and remove the warming pad from inside the cushion. From there, remove the foam ring inside the bed’s cover. The cover is machine washable on a gentle cycle, and should be washed with cold water. K&H recommends line-drying the cover, or using a no-heat setting if you opt for your dryer.

If you need to wash the foam ring, rather than just the cover, you should hand wash the ring with soapy water. Ring the foam out and let it air dry completely before putting the bed back together.

Where to Buy this K&H Heated Cat Bed

The K&H Thermo-Kitty Cuddle Up bed is pretty readily available at pet stores online and comes in two sizes. My cats have the small heated bed with the shorter lip. This style is available from both Amazon and Chewy. The bed is also available with taller sides on Amazon and Chewy for about $50.

Pair your new heated bed with one of my hand-crocheted Critter Crafting Cat Mats for optimal coziness!

Emory likes to burrow under the blankets or make biscuits on them, especially when I refresh them with catnip spray.
