Discovering La Vie Rebecca Taylor
Rebecca Taylor is known for feminine style, with most of her lines centering around softer patterns and colors. In 2016, Rebecca Taylor started a second line, La Vie Rebecca Taylor, which is intended more for daily wear. I’ve seen pieces from the line at Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s quite often, but never gave it too much thought — primarily because I tend towards a darker neutral tone (although it turns out La Vie has a lot of great black pieces) and secondarily because the price point can be a bit high.
La Vie Rebecca Taylor features soft colors and silhouettes with Victorian and Provencal themes. The pieces tend to have more relaxed fits. Between the looser styles and the lovely light fabrics, La Vie Rebecca Taylor, I’m finding, is great for Florida summers.
A New Favorite
While wandering through Nordstrom the other day, I came across a large La Vie Rebecca Taylor display. A rack of shirts really caught my eye — it was full of subtly colorful cotton tops.
This Metallic Striped Cotton Peasant Top really stood out to me. It was a little more money than I wanted to spend on a top, but I kept walking back to it, so I tried it on.
I was immediately obsessed and am so glad that I went ahead and bought it. It is comfortable and flattering. The length is good, too, even on a petite frame. I sized up because the fabric is a bit thin and the shoulders ran a little small, but overall it’s pretty true to size.
Pieces I’m Now Coveting
Since buying this top, I started looking around more at the line. Here are the other pieces that I’m keeping my eye on for now:
Lace Detail Sleeveless Cotton Blouse
Provencal Ruffled Dress
This floral dress is perfect for a summer sun dress that can transition into night well. With a stretchy cinched waist, the dress would be comfortable to wear throughout the day. Check it out at Bloomingdale’s or in a softer color pallet at Nordstrom.
Lace Detail Tiered Cotton Minidress
Described as adding some fancy frills to your LBD, this cotton dress would be great for Florida year-round. The tie at the waist accentuates ones’ figure while also giving some flexibility to the style. Check the dress out at Nordstrom.
Like the Metallic Striped top I bought, this Provencal Top is billowy with a subtle pattern. It’s feminine without being over-the-top. It would pair well with jeans, like pictured here, or with some navy chino shorts.
