Fresh Pasta from Pasta Packs

Pasta Packs in Tampa, Florida

Based in South Tampa, Pasta Packs is a delicious-smelling shop offering meal kits of hand-rolled fresh pasta dishes. Founder and head chef Nic Bryon had toyed with the idea of Pasta Packs for some time, hoping to create delicious food and a new kind of culinary experience all in one go. Nic and his brother Greg Bryon started the pasta business after Nic lost his sous chef position at Armature Work’s Oak & Ola due to the pandemic. Now, the brothers are developing delicious pasta dish meal kits, hosting dinner party events, and teaching pasta making classes from their shop in South Tampa. From classic dishes to eclectic flavors, Pasta Packs provides you with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal in your own kitchen!

Trying Out Pasta Packs

I’ve wanted to try Pasta Packs out for a while now, so I was thrilled when an opportunity to work with them came up. The hardest part of the whole process was figuring out which dish I wanted to try first! Did I want to try an intriguing White Lasagna or Pumpkin Agnolotti, or should I opt for a classic favorite of mine first? Ultimately, I went with the Aglio E Olio, one of my favorite classic Italian pasta dishes, and made a note to try the others next.

Picking up my Aglio E Olio Pasta Pack was super convenient and quick. I had scheduled the pickup for around 5 PM, but got an email that it was ready early, around 2 PM. Since I was free, I went and picked it up around 2:30. The shop smelled absolutely delicious and it did take some will power not to delve into the package the moment I got home.

What Was In My Pasta Pack

As with any of the recipes from this local shop, my order came with prepared and partially cooked fresh pasta for two, along with sauce, sliced garlic, and cheese. Each pack serves two people. Everything was sealed tightly and there was no mess when I took the bag apart.

The pasta certainly grew in the pot and was plenty for two generous portions. The cheese was also incredibly fluffy and the garlic was perfectly fresh and fragrant!

All you need to prepare your meal, then, is a stove, a pot, and a pan. Pasta Packs recommends keeping olive oil, salt, and pepper on hand, too, to add to taste. Per the directions, the dish was ready in about 10 minutes.

For preparing the pasta dish, I used my 9 inch Le Creuset pan for sauce prep and my 1.75 quart Le Creuset cast iron saucepan for the pasta. I then combined the sauce and drained pasta in the 1.75 quart saucepan.

How Long do Pasta Packs Last?

These pasta meal kits can stay refrigerated for up to two days. However, you can freeze the unprepared fresh pasta for up to two months. Handy things to keep in mind if you’re hosting friends or family at your home!
