Formal Fall Wedding Guest Dresses

Top Picks for Formal Wedding Guest Dresses for Fall

When it comes to formal fall wedding guest dresses, there are a few themes you can follow. Where the weather and the theme calls for a longer gown, there are lots of midi and maxi dress options. For those of us in warmer climates (IE: Florida), I’ve been sure to include at least one mini style, as well. Whether you opt for a solid color or a pattern, here are some of the most elegant wedding guest dresses you can wear this fall:

Formal Fall Wedding Guest Dresses for Her

For your convenience, I have found a handful of solid color dresses as well as floral and patterned options. A few of these styles are also available in different colors or patterns, so be sure to check out what is available in your size via the links below the images!

Left to Right: Flutter Sleeve Satin Maxi Dress | Metallic Jacquard Midi Dress | The Autumn Dress | Magnus Dress

Typically, fall styles call for deeper, richer colors. Aside from the Angelica dress (first image in post) and Autumn Dress (just above), these styles stay with this theme. For the most formal of weddings, the Metallic Jacquard Midi Dress would be a great option. This dress features beautiful autumnal colors with a dramatic high-low hemline. I just love the rich emerald green, probably since it suits my own wedding colors. For a subtler pattern option, check out Reformation’s Magnus Dress, which has a similar color palette without the jacquard.

Left to Right: Ruched Top Midi Dress | Seona Knit Dress | One Shoulder Midi Dress | Satin Plunge Mini Dress

I’m typically a fan of fit-and-flare or A-line dresses, but there were a number of stunning formal sheath dresses that caught my eye this season. In particular, Abercrombie & Fitch’s Flutter Sleeve Satin Maxi Dress (first graphic of four) is just such a classic, feminine style, as is the One Shoulder Midi Dress (above) from Dress the Population.
