Silvervine Sticks from Ryercat

Trying Out Ryercat’s Silvervine Cat Dental Sticks

Similar to catnip, silver vine can be a cat’s best friend, which is why I was excited to try the special Silvervine Sticks from Ryercat with my fur babies! An edible plant native to mountainous regions in China, Japan, and Russia, silver vine contains nepetalactol, an ingredient known to activate the reward and pleasure centers of a cat’s brain. Hence, why cats tend to love silver vine toys!

So, it should come as no surprise that the Ryercat Silvervine Cat Dental Sticks were an instant hit with my curious kitties. Here, I’m sharing more about these Silvervine Sticks and how to pick up a set for your cat with my exclusive discount code at the bottom of this page:

What This Page Covers:

What These Sticks are Designed to Do

The Silvervine Dental Chew Sticks are unique purification products for cat dental health. They clean teeth and freshen breath, protect oral health, prevent dental disease and promotes healthy teeth. According to Ryercat’s website, the Silvervine Sticks contain a natural enzyme that works to remove plaque and tartar from teeth for your cat’s good oral hygiene. Ryercat recommends using them after brushing your cat’s teeth, as a way to positively reinforce the experience.

They feature a core of silvervine with natural raffia straw and sisal rope, along with a gall fruit chew toy. I removed the gall fruit bauble from the first few I gave my cats, because I’m anxious about the size. However, after reading up on the toys themselves, I am more comfortable since the fruit bauble is consumable and all natural.

My Experience with the Silvervine Cat Dental Sticks

I originally wrote about these cat toys as an honorable mention in my catnip toy round up here, since they elicited a similar reaction to catnip. Since then, Ryercat’s Silvervine Cat Dental Sticks have become such a favorite here that they deserve their own page!

I love that the toys are not only good for cleaning cat teeth and freshening breath, but they’re super fun and crinkly kicker toys!

The Ryercat website noted that these toys are designed in such a way that they are attractive to cats. And, I have to say, that certainly seems true from my experience!

Since buying the first pack, I’ve given these Silvervine Sticks out to my friends’ and family’s cats. They’ve all taken to them immediately and with gusto!

They’ve been especially popular with my mom’s cat, Dory, who is a catnip aficionado. Here you can see the aftermath of a particularly boisterous wrestling bout with her Silvervine Stick!

For a more active example of how cats play with these toys, check out the video below of my cats trying them out for the first time. They were interested from the start, sniffing the package before I even opened it. Louis loves to grip the stick and lick it, while Olivia prefers to rub her head all over it! Emory does a bit of both.
