The Mau Pets Cat Tree Review: The Cento Cat Tree

Recently, we got the Mau Pets Cento Cat Tree to try out in our home. This seems to be one of the brand’s most popular styles of modern cat tree, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a larger tower, but not huge, featuring two baskets and a cozy condo at the bottom. Perfect for my three cats!

My cats took to the pretty cat tree right away. Olivia has claimed the middle basket (middle photo above), but Louis and Emory keep swapping turns in the cozy condo at the bottom of this stylish cat tree. It wasn’t long before they began to venture up, as well!

If your cat is hesitant about the tree at first, you could always try adding some catnip spray to the base, scratchers, and beds to entice your furbaby. At this point, this aesthetic cat tree is one of the cats’ favorite hang outs, a total comfort zone for them. I like that it’s a bit of a home base for them, so they can return to it when they’re stressed or bored.

Details About This Mau Pets Cat Tree

Mau Pets designed the Cento Cat Tree to accommodate cats of all sizes. Plus, more than one cat can use the tree at a time. The unique cat tree features a variety of materials, from the woven rattan baskets to some of the fluffiest pet bedding material I’ve ever seen. Personally, I love the natural and aesthetic design of the Cento Cat Tree. Made with durable treated wood branches, the piece is both rustic and sleek, a great option for modern design lovers.

Designed for easy cleaning, the cat tree’s removable cushions are machine washable, and the other surfaces seem to wipe clean easily. Further, wear-and-tear parts, including the rattan baskets, can be replaced individually. You can also buy extra cushions and pom pom balls in a bunch of different colors, if you’d like to have an extra set to swap for washing. My cats love to scratch and maintain their nails on the rope scratcher posts, which are holding up well with use, but can also be replaced via the brand’s website.

Assembly for the Cat Tree

I’ll be honest, I had a bit of a hard time with part of the assembly of the cat tree. Part of it definitely had to do with Louis insisting he needed to help with the process (you can see him “helping” in the video above). Mau Pets provides handy assembly videos for all of their unique cat trees, which were very helpful. I just had a hard time getting the pillars that hold up the condo at the base in place.

However, once I got those base pillars situated, the rest was quite easy. I felt confident that the pieces were secured well, and it was structurally sound. It’s lightweight enough to move around on my own, but not too light that I worry it’ll knock over. All in all, I would consider it to be a sturdy cat tree. Pretty perfect!

Are Mau Pets Cat Trees Worth the Money?

Short answer: yes! When compared to traditional cat trees, Mau Pets Cat Trees are definitely on the pricier end. That being said, the Mau Pets Cat Trees are high quality, beautifully designed pet furniture that stands up to whatever your cat can throw at them.

After about a year of daily use, there are no real signs of wear and tear on our Cento Cat Tree, despite the cats scratching on the pillar trunks and baskets. We haven’t needed to wash any of the bedding from the tree yet, either. However, I they are certainly easy to clean with water and a wash cloth if necessary. Plus, you can purchase necessary replacement pieces for the cat trees should you need them.

So, if you’re wondering whether the Mau Pets Cat Trees are worth the money, I would say that they certainly are worth it!
